Privacy Policy
Streak Recoverer for Snapchat is an independent, unofficial tool. It is not affiliated with, endorsed or sponsored by Snap Inc. "Snapchat" is a trademark of Snap Inc.
What the extension does
The extension fills in Snapchat's public streak support form (on help.snapchat.com) with details you enter, once for each friend you select, so you don't have to type the same information repeatedly.
Data you enter
| Data | Why |
|---|---|
| Your Snapchat username, email address, mobile number and device name | To fill the matching fields of the Snapchat support form |
| Friends' Snapchat usernames and the display names you give them | To fill the "friend's username" field, one request per friend |
| App settings (theme, view mode, delay) | To remember your preferences |
Where it is stored
On your device: by default, everything above is stored only in your browser using Chrome's extension storage. It never leaves your computer except when the extension fills the Snapchat form, at which point it is sent to Snapchat by you submitting that form.
Optional Cloud Sync: if you choose to sign in with Google to sync between devices (for example with the Android app), your profiles and friend lists are stored in Google Firebase (Cloud Firestore) under your account. Only you, signed in with your Google account, can read or change that data. Sign-in uses Google's own login page; the extension receives your Google account's user ID, email address, and name, and does not see your password.
What we don't do
- We do not sell, rent or share your data with anyone.
- We do not use your data for advertising, analytics or tracking.
- We do not read your Snapchat account, messages, or any website other than the Snapchat support form.
- We do not use or transfer your data for purposes unrelated to the extension's single purpose described above.
Third parties
- Snap Inc. receives the support form you submit, under Snap's privacy policy.
- Google (Firebase) stores Cloud Sync data only if you turn it on, under Firebase's privacy terms.
Deleting your data
- Local data: delete profiles and friends inside the extension, or uninstall the extension to remove everything.
- Cloud data: deleting a profile or friend while signed in marks it as deleted in the cloud so it no longer syncs to any device. To have your cloud data permanently erased, open a request at the link below and it will be removed within 30 days.
Children
The extension is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect their data.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new "Last updated" date.
